Tom Jones is leaving Balance Health Club to pursue other avenues in his career, however you will still see Tom around teaching classes at the Club.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Tom for all of his hard work in the Club over the last six years and wish him the best for the future.
According to the Times Health Correspondent Chris Smith. Good news for Balance members! Cancer research UK, which funded the research, said the best way was to prevent cancer happening in the first place.
Leading a healthy lifestyle doesn’t guarantee that a person won’t get cancer but this study shows that healthy habits can significantly stack odds in their favour.
For a long time, people have been told that eating healthily, not smoking and exercising regularly can benefit them, and these figures show again the impact a healthy lifestyle can have. Yet these healthy lifestyle messages are clearly not reaching enough people.
More six pack thoughts:
Some of you will be new to this six pack business and as such will be forgiven for thinking that your next step is to get crunching. Here’s the scoop: its not. According to a study published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research exercise that extends your body while keeping your lower back in a safe neutral position works the rectus abdominus 25% harder than crunches. The crunch works just a small amount of muscle through a small range of motion. Proper core training, however, works all your abdominal muscles as well as your lower back, and draws in your glutes, hamstrings and the supporting tissue in between. Amen to that! Ask a member of the gym team for help in you core training.
