Balance Member Running London Marathon for the third time

Dear Fellow Gym Members,

I’m looking for sponsorship for the 2010 Virgin London Marathon in aid of ‘The Ear Foundation’. The Ear Foundation has successfully provided paediatric cochlear implants to the UK since 1989. Back in 1997 they operated on my friend’s two year old daughter. Since then she has had several further operations as technological advances have been made with the cochlear implants. Surgery has not been the only assistance they have provided Natasha and the family over the years. They’ve also run family programmes so that they can connect and communicate better whilst sharing experiences with other families and introduced educational and research programmes.

The local authority has provided little support over the years which is why I wanted to give something back to them. If you could please dig deep and sponsor The Ear Foundation as much as possible we’d really appreciate it, I couldn’t put into words the life changing experience that these implants have given to both Natasha and her family.

Finally, if you see me slacking in the gym between now and April give me a gentle kick as I’ve set myself a target of knocking 24 minutes of my PB. This will only be my third marathon and at the time of writing this ‘IT WILL BE MY LAST’, boy I’m hurting today.
